Have you ever noticed when you travel the pattern you’ve fallen into and the fake pieces of you will melt away? The moment you leave the comforts of your own home, only the truest parts of who you are stick. It’s pretty refreshing if you think about it. I know personally I have a hard time seeing those things I do which aren’t actually me but things I’ve picked up from other people or just bad habits from circumstance. The trouble is when the healthy things you do get stripped away. It is probably a sign your habits aren’t helping you. For me, these times are when I take a good hard look at myself and what I naturally drift towards. It’s really good feedback which can otherwise be difficult to come by. Next time you travel, or do anything which pushes you far enough out of your comfort zone that you go back to your default you, pay attention. You may be surprised who you are when the comforts of home are no longer.
