The real treasure in life, no matter what anybody else ever tells you, is the sum of your relationships with other people.
How you treat them, how they treat you, the memories, conversations, work you do together, the learnings, dancing, playing, creating, loving, all of it.
If there is somebody special in your life, please for your sake and their tell them. You never know how much longer you have to do so.
In a crowded room, don't be afraid to speak to one person the entire time (as long as they're into it).
I've tried getting a little bit in with a lot of people at an event and going deep with a few. Always go for depth. If you can't, love on them and learn about them. Make them feel special by treating them like royalty in the form of listening to what they have to say.
And actually care.
And do as much of that as you can.
Some people aren't worth holding onto. Others are. Figure out which ones are the real gems. A dear friend of mine describes these people as "high density, low maintenance" and it rings so true.
You can walk away from any encounter with more or less energy. Stay away from those who take yours. It is precious.
Curate your collection of people carefully.
Then, hold them dearly. Tell them how much they mean to you. Often.
There will be a day where they won't be there for you to tell them.
It could be tomorrow.
Say what you need to say.
Fuck shame.
Let it pour out of your heart like an avalanche.
Leave it all out on the table.
In 10,000 years nobody will remember any of us anyways. We might as well give it everything we've got.
