If I'm on the phone or on a broadcast or sitting peacefully in my living room after a day of hard work, there are few things more annoying than having someone else on their phone with the annoying buzz and sound of videos playing off of social media. The dopamine abusive audio of a brain melting video from [[Phone addiction|doomscrolling]] portals of our semi-dystopian present. Hyperbolic? Maybe, but I truly cannot stand the sound. It seems to me something more sinister than an inconsiderate party member. I am of the belief it is a symptom - if done chronically - of a misalignment of values. The same values which cause one to make a salad out of the healthiest materials available versus order in pasta, burgers, etc on a regular basis. Those parallel foundational beliefs empowering the entrepreneur working 16 hour days happily and causing dismay in the 40 hour week employee. People are hard wired differently, and some of us puzzle pieces do not fit together without causing a tear in one or both. Recognizing humans for who they truly are is incredibly important, as the unwillingness to acknowledge ones true nature is a setup for unhappiness. Either you don't know yourself and others, or you're trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Just accept reality for what it is, and let it happen.
